World Nature Conservation Day: Putting Our Values Into Action

How often do you put your company values into action?

World Nature Conservation Day: Putting Our Values Into Action

At Each Person, we thrive off our values and believe it’s important to show our clients and our community what we're all about. One of our key missions is to be the go-to mentor and enabler to help all businesses fulfil a commitment to their people and the planet.

So, we ensure to take responsible action and convey these values through everything we do. World Nature Conservation Day comes around every July and we like to take this as an opportunity to further showcase our commitment to positive climate action.

In this post, we’ll give you the rundown of what we did this year to support World Nature Conservation Day. Plus, give you some key tips for demonstrating your company ethos through real, tangible action that gets the whole team involved!

What is World Nature Conservation Day?

This annual event looks to bring awareness to the need to preserve a thriving environment and natural resources to maintain a stable and healthy society (1).

Another key goal of World Nature Conservation Day is to save the plants and animals that face the threat of extinction. This day helps affirm the need to protect natural resources and to preserve the environment for future generations (1).

Each Person x World Nature Conservation Day

For World Nature Conservation Day this year, our team decided to organise a litter-picking activity to protect the local environment and support the community on our doorstep.

Ella our Head of Marketing details what this means for Each Person. "As one of our key company values, we care a lot about our planet and finding ways to help such as our 'donate a tree' feature on the Each Person platform".

"We are currently organising our next litter-picking activity in our local area since the last time was such a success. It allows us to get together as a team and work on something that matters a lot to all of us."

Planning an activity that gets the whole team collaborating outside of the office is important for us to implement. It allows us to show that our values are more than snappy statements or emotive words - we really stand behind each one.

We’re the leading rewards and recognition platform that allows companies to plant a tree and help save the planet. Plus, we've partnered with Carbon Footprint to give employees the opportunity to give something back.

Feeling inspired? Why not put your own company values into action and show your employees and customers what you’re truly about? Follow these tips and get started.

How To Demonstrate Your Company Values in a Tangible, Authentic Way

As many as 63% of consumers say they want to buy products/ services from companies that have a purpose that resonates with their personal values (2).

So if you want to plan a team activity that demonstrates your values, consider the following.

  1. Community First - Look at your values and see which actions you can take, or which organisations you can support within your local community. Many businesses support large charities and NGOs (Non-Governmental Organisations) but forget who could benefit on their doorstep.
  1. Make it Social - Use projects and activities to bring teams together and collaborate. Ensure everyone gets involved and can showcase the company values in a way that resonates with them.
  1. Get Creative - Use this as an opportunity to get creative and have fun. Come up with small activities or long-term charity projects that offer something different and will get your company name out there!

Whether your company ethos links to the planet, humanitarianism, activism or something else, use these tips to get the whole team involved for the greater good.
